Hi
folks – Patrick Klein, the Lizards' guitar
player here.
First, let me welcome you to our new site! It is
the creative genius of the legendary Batttttty -
the supreme vai-countess of rock and roll!
If you’ve wondered why it’s been so
quiet here lately it’s because we have been
cooking up some goodies such as this new site, and
we have also finally completed the new album! Mastering
is underway and cover art is nearly complete. Look
for it soon. This record contains many of the new
songs we have been playing live over the past year
that a lot of you were asking about at the shows.
And a special guest to boot!
Also underway is our live dvd compilation. Taken
from three killer performances, it should give ample
evidence that The Lizards "walk it like we
talk it". With little or no tampering with
the true performances, we're gonna let it all hang
out for you. Filmed in New York, Germany, and at
Sweden Rock Festival, this dvd will be packed with
extra goodies, and more cameras then we've ever
used. (Nine high-definition cameras in Germany!) |
We have some shows lined up
here in the USA in May. We will be the support act for guitar
legend Uli Jon Roth. See the tour page for details. For
our European fans we are working on our very first headlining
tour! If all goes well we hope to be there in the fall.
Even I don’t know the details yet but I’m told
it’s moving forward. Hope we see you all then!
Of a slightly lower priority,
our "covers" cd project is also steadily moving
forward. We're creating a love letter to our childhood
heroes, especially the more obscure ones. So far we've
recorded songs by Stray Dog, Boomerang, Detective and
Free. We'll also have some Blues and Funk on there
- including a killer version of John Lee Hooker's "I'm
Mad"!
|
| Our
new live set will be mixed with some old favorites that we
have revived as well as some of the new songs from the upcoming
studio album. We are always writing so it’s possible
we will add some completely new stuff as well.
Thanks for stopping
by - and let us know if there's anything you'd like to see
on the website. We have high hopes that this version will
be dynamic and user-friendly! All the best!
The Lizards!

Hi folks
- Randy Pratt, the Lizards' bass player here. Well
after a couple of false starts, mixing on cd #4
is going full steam ahead. This cd is shaping up
as our most diverse by far. The 100 gigs we played
last year seasoned our groove with new singer Mike
Dimeo beautifully. It's hard to remember us with
anybody else. There will be lots of the classic
hard'n'heavy riff-rock you've come to expect from
us, with quite a few surprises. Let's just say that
we're feeling confident enough to expand our horizons
and we hope you enjoy the results.

Last year we
toured Europe five times! The Glenn Hughes tour alone
had us there for 2 months! Our pets barely recognized
us when we got back! As wonderful an experience as that
was, we realised that we've been neglecting our American
fans for too long. That's why we've decided to concentrate
on supplying our "New Classic Rock" therapy
to our friends in the USA for the forseeable future. On
our King's X tour recently, we made friends with Jhacc's
in Alexandria Va., The Stone Pony in Asbury Park N.J.,
The Crazy Donkey in Farmingdale, N.Y., and Double Ds in
Morristown N.J. You can expect to see us at these fine
establishments regularly, as you will at our favorite
NYC joint, BBKings, - first up with Ten Years After on
March 15th.

We'll also have some Blues and Funk on there (did
a killer version of John Lee Hooker's "I'm
Mad")
We're
really going through a creative writing period now,
so don't be surprised to hear lots of new songs
when you see us perform in the future!
